The Department of Technology is required to update the Governor's report on generative AI as significant new developments emerge. Implementation guidance is coordinated by the Government Operations Agency, the Office of Data and Innovation and the California Department of Human Resources. The Act applies to communications between state agencies and Californians about government services or benefits.",
