Compliance Node Overview
MITRE ATT&CK T1666 (Modify Cloud Resource Hierarchy) is an Enterprise Defense Evasion technique. Adversaries may attempt to modify hierarchical structures in infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) environments in order to evade defenses. IaaS environments often group resources into a hierarchy, enabling improved resource management and application of policies to relevant groups. Hierarchical structures differ among cloud providers. Affected platforms: IaaS. MITRE-documented mitigations include M1054 Software Configuration, M1018 User Account Management, M1047 Audit. The Center for Threat-Informed Defense maps this technique to NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5 controls CM-03.
