What Directive (EU) 2019/1161 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 2019 on the promotion of clean mobility through the procurement of clean vehicles by public authorities requires
Public contracting authorities in EU member states must ensure that a minimum percentage of newly procured buses, trucks, and light commercial vehicles are clean vehicles, as defined by low CO₂ emissions and zero-emission propulsion. The targets are set in Article 4 and apply from 2 August 2019 onward.
