What MARPOL Annex VI: Operational Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) Rating Scheme for Existing Ships requires
Mandates ships of 5,000 gross tonnage and above to calculate their annual operational carbon intensity and receive a rating from A (major superior) to E (inferior). As per MARPOL Annex VI, Regulation 28, ships rated D for three consecutive years or E for one year must submit a corrective action plan within their Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP).
