18 U.S.C. 1006 criminalises, by an officer, agent or employee of, or person connected in any capacity with, specified federal credit institutions (including the FDIC, NCUA, Federal home loan banks, the Federal Housing Finance Agency, the Farm Credit Administration, HUD and the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation), making false entries in any book, report or statement with intent to defraud the institution or any other entity or individual, drawing orders or issuing obligations without authority, and participating in or receiving money, profit or property through any transaction of the institution with intent to defraud. The penalty is a fine up to $1,000,000 or imprisonment up to 30 years, or both.
