What 18 U.S.C. 1348 - Securities and Commodities Fraud requires
18 U.S.C. 1348 criminalises knowingly executing or attempting to execute a scheme or artifice to defraud any person in connection with commodities for future delivery, commodity options, or securities of an issuer with reporting obligations or required to file reports (paragraph (1)), and obtaining money or property in connection with the purchase or sale of such instruments by false or fraudulent pretenses, representations or promises (paragraph (2)). The penalty is a fine, imprisonment up to 25 years, or both.
