What Safe Food for Canadians Regulations requires
The Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) require food businesses involved in importing, exporting, manufacturing, or selling certain foods to hold a licence, develop a preventive control plan (PCP), and maintain traceability records (one-up, one-down). These requirements apply to all food commodities listed under the SFCR, including meat, dairy, eggs, fish, and fresh fruits and vegetables, as specified in sections 20(1), 85, and 122 of the Safe Food for Canadians Act and its regulations.
