What Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law (CETS No. 225) requires
This treaty establishes a legal framework for Parties (ratifying countries) to regulate AI activities, ensuring they are consistent with human rights, democracy, and the rule of law. It requires Parties to implement measures for transparency, oversight, accountability, and risk management for AI systems used by both public authorities and private actors, as outlined in Articles 4, 5, and 10.
