This Regulation establishes the administrative and technical requirements for the type-approval and market surveillance of agricultural and forestry vehicles, systems, components and separate technical units (Article 1). It defines the vehicle categories T (tractors), C (track-laying tractors), R (trailers) and S (towed equipment) (Article 4), requires Member States to designate approval and market surveillance authorities (Article 5), and sets manufacturer obligations to ensure conformity and to act on non-conforming or seriously risky products (Articles 8 and 9).
