What EU AI Act Article 54 - Authorised Representatives of GPAI Model Providers requires
EU AI Act Regulation 2024/1689 Article 54 requires providers of general-purpose AI models established outside the European Union who make their models available in the EU to appoint an authorised representative established in the EU before placing the model on the EU market, that the authorised representative is empowered to act on behalf of the non-EU provider in all matters relating to EU AI Act GPAI compliance including cooperation with the AI Office and national competent authorities, and that the AI Office and national competent authorities may address compliance communications and enforcement actions to the authorised representative in place of the non-EU provider.
