What Regulation (EU) No 168/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 January 2013 on the approval and market surveillance of two- or three-wheel vehicles and quadricycles requires
This Regulation sets the administrative and technical requirements for the type-approval and market surveillance of L-category vehicles, namely powered two- and three-wheel vehicles and quadricycles intended to travel on public roads (Articles 1 and 2). It defines the L1e to L7e categories including mopeds, motorcycles and quads (Article 4), requires Member States to designate approval and market surveillance authorities (Article 6), and imposes manufacturer obligations for conformity and for handling non-conforming or seriously risky products (Articles 9 and 10).
