Article 101 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) prohibits agreements between undertakings, decisions by associations of undertakings, and concerted practices that prevent, restrict, or distort competition within the EU internal market, particularly those involving price-fixing, market sharing, output limitation, or bid rigging (Article 101(1)). Exemptions may apply if agreements contribute to improving production or distribution without eliminating competition (Article 101(3)).
