What ILO Convention No. 162 (C162) - Asbestos, 1986 requires
ILO Convention No. 162 requires States to prescribe by national laws the measures to prevent and control health hazards from occupational exposure to asbestos, making employers responsible for compliance, providing for the replacement of asbestos by safer materials where possible, prohibiting crocidolite and spraying of asbestos, setting exposure limits, regulating demolition and asbestos removal, monitoring the working environment and workers health, and informing and training workers.
