Section 38 prohibits restricted works on registered common land, such as fencing, buildings, or other works preventing or impeding access, without the consent of the appropriate national authority. Section 46 confers powers relating to unauthorised agricultural activities on common land, and section 61 provides the interpretation. The Act is the foundational modern statute for the registration and protection of common land and greens.
