What Competition Act 1998 - Chapter I: Prohibition of Agreements, Decisions and Concerted Practices; Chapter II: Prohibition of Abuse of Dominant Position requires
The UK Competition Act 1998, Sections 2(1) and 2(2), prohibits agreements between undertakings, decisions by associations of undertakings, and concerted practices that prevent, restrict, or distort competition within the UK. It also prohibits any abuse of a dominant position in a market by one or more undertakings, as defined under Section 18. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has broad investigative and enforcement powers under Sections 30-36.
