The Service Contract Act of 1965 (41 U.S.C. §§ 6701-6707) requires federal contractors and subcontractors performing service contracts exceeding $2,500 to pay service employees no less than the prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits determined by the Secretary of Labor. It also mandates successor contractors to offer employment to qualified workers employed by the predecessor under 41 U.S.C. § 6704.
