What Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVP) for Importers of Food for Humans and Animals - 21 CFR Part 1, Subpart L requires
The FSVP rule requires U.S. importers to perform risk-based foreign supplier verification activities to ensure that imported food is produced in a manner providing the same level of public health protection as required under sections 418 or 419 of the FD&C Act, is not adulterated under section 402, and is not misbranded under section 403(w) regarding allergen labeling. This applies to the U.S. owner or consignee of food offered for import.
